Villa Tahio
T. and D. had the project to create the Bed and Breakfast of their dreams on the heights of Sainte-Marie, a few miles away from the place where they celebrated their wedding. They bought land and contracted with an architect themselves : Laurent Payet (STUDIO.B).
Once we received the documents from the architect, we conducted the technical studies internally. Thereafter, we came up with the cost of construction for the structural work as a first phase, and the secondary work for a second phase. The secondary work included complementary 3D’s, and more importantly, was about helping them make the right choices for the budget.
Construction management
The project took 2 years to be completed, given that commuting all of the material from Tana to Sainte-Marie was no easy task. From 12m long IPN’s to the smallest of accessories (e.g door handles, led spots etc), everything had to come from Tana to Toamasina with the apocalyptic road, from Toamasina port to Sainte-Marie port by boat, and from Sainte-Marie port to the construction site by small truck then tuk-tuk, because the access from the main road was narrow and slippery. Besides, one commute could take 5 to 20 days because of the very unpredictable weather. Materials could stay in Toamasina’s port waiting for the sea to be safe for sailing.
The whole team is very proud of this piece of work that will be a landmark in Sainte-Marie.
